He wants Ferraro to quit, becase he was forced to fire Powers for the "Hillary is a monster statement."
However, every time Ferraro opens her fat trap for now on, Obama is going to pick up more votes.
So keeping her around, may be a good thing for Obama and bad for Hillary.
edit: As for the change, I think it is clear. Obama is NOT Bush. And Americans are to the point of voting anybody who isn’t Bush or like him. Which is why McCain better change his platform really fast or he is going to get his clock cleaned in Nov.

Watching presidential campaigns is like watching toddlers fight over a toy. I get so fed up with it. By the time election rolls around, I can’t stand any of them.

1) Freedom of Speech is a federally protected right – it doesn’t apply here. (The government is not stifling her right to speak, the public is just saying she’s a moron for what she’s saying).
2) Hillary should have fired Ferraro for being a complete idiot.

He didn’t call for her to quit.
Freedom of speech means the government can’t limit your speech. Private companies (like Yahoo and this site) can limit you any way they want.

Cant stand the woman but she was right in what she said if people take the time to look at it in context rather than running with cries of racism- also a good point- no one can say anything about the guy without someone screaming racism and that is very bad for this country

ok, even as a white person I was offended by what she said. She’s clearly a bigot and that attitude shouldn’t be ok for anyone in a position of power.
And secondly, I dont see how Hillary can keep claiming his promise of change is all words, because at this point, that’s all either of them have, is words. Neither of them are in office yet, and despite what Hillary may think, she wasn’t the president already.

I think, bottom line, she has the right to say what she wants, given that the public has the right to disagree. So, basing on the negativity resulting from the statement, Hillary would be smart to distance herself from Miss Ferraro in an effort to stay on the public’s "good side". But I don’t believe that what Miss Ferraro said was racist. It seems as though nobody says a thing about Obama because of the fact that he is a black man, but Hilary’s being a woman is constantly brought up and made joke of. In the USA today it is much more acceptable for comments about a gender than a race, not that either should be okay. Calls of racism or playingf te "race card" are practiced soooo often that one begins to get sick of it. Not every comment relating to a race is racist. There is this horrid fret that this country has over saying the wrong, un-pc thing all the time and it is rather stifling. It’s almost creeping how freedom of speech is a fundamental amendment and customary practice in america, but say the wrong thing and you are screwed for life. Basically, it’s like Animal Farm by George Orwell, where the basic laws and principals, while very clear and concise to begin with, slowly start to change into limited rights and rules. A sign of things to come? let’s hope not. Oh well, living in USA.
